Cobra 40X made in Korea

The Cobra 40X was a simple design radio made cheaply in South Korea. It is a 40 channel AM radio. It uses a standard Cobra dual conversion receiver of 10.695 MHz to 455 KHz. It is not easily converted beyond 40 channels.

I don’t know what expansion kit would be used to expand the radio beyond 40 channels. It was a short lived production run. Except for the schematic that came with the radio I don’t know of any service manual for the radio except for what was available from Cobra at the time.

The Microphone Pin-out is the same as any modern Cobra radio. Uniden had nothing to do with this radio. This particular radio was made in October of 1984; the serial number is Serial Number 34622.
